Try On Session: Old Navy

This post contains affiliate links.

When I dropped my son off at preschool today, some of the moms asked me to post my outfit. I told them all I did was put a knot in my (old) Old Navy dress to give it some shape. Super easy. Try it with one of your old dresses. It suddenly gives it a more current look.

Similar dress to mine http://shopstyle.it/l/UtT4

After drop off, I treated myself to a mani/pedi (family pictures are on Sunday) and then went to Old Navy to try and find something to wear to those family pictures. Lots of items are 50% off in store today.

I found this plaid dress that literally feels like a flannel pajama night shirt. Here I’m showing how it looks worn tied and untied. This runs big. I’m wearing a small. I’d recommend sizing down, especially if you’re inbetween sizes. Plaid dress http://shopstyle.it/l/UtUg

Speaking of flannel pajamas, these pants are a must! I had to buy them and couldn’t wait to get home to put them on. So now I’m sitting on the couch. Just finished folding laundry in my new buffalo plaid flannel pajamas pants. What does your crazy Friday night look like?

Here are a couple of cozy sweaters.

This vest is nice and thin. Great if you like the look of a vest but don’t want the added bulk.

This long cardigan sweater is so warm and cozy! Definitely had to buy this.

Try it on Tuesday: Swimsuit Cover Up Edition

This post contains affiliate links which means Little Blue Jeans gets a small commission if you make a purchase or a few cents every time you click on one of the links. There’s no additional cost to you.

I LOVE summer days that are spent by a pool or lake in a bathing suit and swim cover-up. Today was one of those days. I actually just came inside to finish this post and to get ready to go see fireworks.  Here are a few cover-ups I found for this week’s Try it on Tuesday.

White Crochet

This cover-up is so pretty and looks much more expensive than it is. People will be shocked when you tell them it’s from Amazon!

Pompom Cover-Up

Here’s another Amazon find. The pompoms are fun! Check out all the colors it comes in.

Tassel Back Cover Up

I really like the blue tassels on the back of this cover up. You can grab it for 20% off right now at Target with promo code JULY4.

Hooded Cover Up

The material of this cover up is very comfortable. It comes in stripes, black, and teal. It ran small on me. I’m wearing a medium but would prefer a large. Again, you can use promo code JULY4 to save 20%.

Seersucker Cover Up

Here’s another Target find. The material of this one is very soft and comfortable. It seems like it would dry super fast.

Hooded Sleeveless Dress

This is a dress that could double as a swim cover up. It’s not see through at all. Perfect for going from the pool to the grocery store. It’s available in four different colors. I’m wearing a small in the black one and a medium in the purple.

Off the Shoulder Cover Up

I wore this dress/cover-up all over Cuba. While we were there, it rained multiple times and then the sun would come out. This dress is a nice light material so it dried quickly.

Enjoy these hot summer days before they’re gone! I’m trying to soak up as many as possible!

Try it on Tuesday: Fourth of July Style

This post contains affiliate links which means Little Blue Jeans gets a small commission if you make a purchase or a few cents every time you click on one of the links. There’s no additional cost to you.

This week I went to a bunch of different stores looking for outfits to wear for Independence Day. The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. Love the parades, pool parties, fireworks, and all the red, white, & blue clothing (the preppy and the trashy)…..

Ruffle T-Shirt

Raw Hem Shorts

I like this classic look. The top is really soft. Sizes are limited online but I was able to find mine in store on clearance for $13.98. The shorts are also really comfortable. I like that they’re mid-rise. They come in a few different lengths. I’m wearing the “midi” length.

Rose T-Shirt

Flag Shorts

These shorts are so fun and surprisingly not as short as I thought they were going to be. I didn’t want to take a bootie selfie so check out the link for how fun the back of these shorts are. They are supposedly “high rise” but were quite low on me. Maybe if I size up they’ll hit me higher on my waist.

Striped Tank

Raw Hem Shorts

This tank is available in blue or red. Check out the link to see the cute strappy back. It’s a steal at just $9.99!

Tie Tank

White Denim Skirt

This top is available in red, white, or blue. It’s only $12.99!

Flag Top

I’d recommend sizing up in this tank and wearing high bottoms if you don’t want your bellybutton to show. It’s also only $12.99!

Denim Star Shirt

Raw Hem Shorts

It’s hard to see in this picture, but this denim top has fun little stars all over it. Try tying the bottom for an updated look.

Peplum Tank

Jeans

Peplum tops are trendy this season. This one is extra feminine with the crochet details. These jeans are comfortable and I like that they’re only slightly destructed, making them more appropriate for days I get to wear jeans to work.

Star Romper

If you look closely, you might be able to see all the little stars on this romper.

Red Tank

Striped Shorts

I love preppy looks (like this one) for the Fourth of July. The top I’m wearing is actually a bodysuit but I couldn’t find it online so I linked a different red tank.

Overalls

As much as I love the preppy look, I also think it’s fun to get a little “white trashy” for the Fourth.

Striped T-Shirt Dress

This dress is only $12.99 and feels like pajamas. Do I need to say more?

Star Dress

Botties

Sadly it looks like my dress is mostly out of stock online but check the store near you. I just saw it in store last week.

Flag Tee

Distressed Denim

The cut of this flag tee makes it very flattering and the print is super patriotic.

Off the Shoulder Dress

If you’re not into red and blue, a classic white dress is always fitting for Independence Day.

Button Dress

I feel like my picture doesn’t do this dress justice. The second I put this on, I felt more feminine and sexy.  It has fun buttons down the front, little flutter straps, and a slightly open back.

Stronger Together Tank

Love that this tank has a graphic of a flag but that it’s understated with the gray. Currently on clearance for $9.08!

And just for fun, here’s a picture of my family on the Fourth of July from a couple of years ago. We were waiting for the fireworks to start. What are your plans for July 4th (besides wearing some really cute patriotic clothing, of course)??

Try it on Tuesday: H&M Style

This post contains affiliate links which means Little Blue Jeans gets a small commission if you make a purchase or a few cents every time you click on one of the links. There’s no additional cost to you.

H&M has fun, trendy clothes for every day and inexpensive work clothes. What’s in the store is only a small fraction of all the clothes that’s available online so you’ll probably want to check out their website. Here’s what I tried on today….

Flounce-Sleeved Top

The top i’m wearing is as soft as a tshirt but dressy enough to wear to work and it’s only $12.99! The shorts are fun and different. I’m bummed I can’t find them on the H&M website but I did find a striped pair that I really like. The store I was at didn’t have the striped pair in my size so I didn’t get to try them on.

Polka Dot T-Shirt

Khaki Green Slacks

Black Suede Wedges

This t-shirt is only $5 and there are lots of other color options. My dress pants are just $14.99!! Such a steal for work clothes. They have a cute little slit on the sides. Size up a size or two in these. There are lots of prints and colors to choose from.

Embroidered Blouse

Same pants, different top. It’s hard to see in the picture because it’s black but this blouse has lots of fun details. The ruffles and the different textures add interest.

One Shoulder Top

These pants can easily go from work to a night out when you put on a fun top. This top is meant to be fitted.

Pink Dress

I first tried on this dress a few weeks ago when I was looking for wedding guest dresses and liked it so much I had to include it again. The color is fun and the cut is flattering.

Romper

This romper comes in a couple prints. Around the armholes there are cute little pompoms and the back has a vertical slit.

Pink Blouse

Black Pants

Pants I can wear to work + comfortable enough to wear to bed = MUST BUY! If you weren’t already convinced, maybe knowing they’re only $20 will do the trick.

Black Lace Top

This top is only $9.99! Hard to beat that price.

Floral Dress

This off the shoulder dress is currently on sale for $17.99 and at time of posting, all sizes are available!

Gingham Dress

Easy summer dress to throw on when you want to look nice and be comfortable. Can you tell I really like to be comfortable?!?

Bodysuit

I’ve been a bit hesitant to jump on the bodysuit bandwagon but I do like this one. It’s obviously low cut but if you’re small-chested like I am, you can get away with wearing it without it appearing overly sexy.

\

Overalls

Tank

When I first saw these overalls on the rack, I was probably more excited than I should be but at the same time, also not 100% sure they were in the right spot. I thought there was a good chance they were misplaced and supposed to be in the girls’ section. I tried them on anyways and can’t help but love them. The pink tank is available in a bunch of colors and only $4.99!

Happy shopping friends!

Try it on Tuesday: Gap Style

This post contains affiliate links which means Little Blue Jeans gets a small commission if you make a purchase or a few cents every time you click on one of the links. There’s no additional cost to you.

Happy Tuesday ladies! You suggested I go to the Gap and I did! Sometimes it’s a little plain for me so I was expecting to be a bit bored with the selection but I’m happy to report I was wrong. There were lots of fun choices for me to try on.

Ruffle Top

White Jeans

Black Jeans

I can’t decide which look I like more. I love denim with white and denim with black. Everything I’m wearing here (minus the black heals) is super comfortable. The denim shirt feels like butter. Size down. I’m wearing an XS. Both pants are really good for holding you in, in ALL the right places and the white jeans aren’t see through!! Hallelujah!

Embroidered Blouse

Frayed Jeans

Black Jeans

This blouse has embroidery in black and blue so it can easily be worn with black, blue, or white bottoms.

Floral Romper

I’m not loving this romper on me but it is really light and comfortable and seems like it has some length to it, making it nice for people who are taller than me. I’m 5’4.

Denim Shirt

Black Jeans

This “Tencel” denim shirt is soooo comfortable and environmentally friendly. This runs big; I’m wearing a small. I love it tied, especially because it’s long in the back. I love the short in the front, long back look….I find it to be slimming.

Wrap Dress

Fun dress for work. I wasn’t able to find this color online but did find the dress in different colors.

Maxi Dress

Perfect dress for those hot summer nights. I actually like this dress better without the sash belt. What do you think?

Linen Shirt

Cut Off Shorts

Cuffed Shorts

Both of these shorts are ultra comfortable and high wasted (which I’ve grown to love). My white top is sold out at Target:/ The tied button down is available in several colors and stripes. Such a timeless item that won’t ever go out of style.

Denim Dress

I HAD to try this on because I’m pretty sure I had the same exact dress when I was 10. Probably from Limited Too.  I couldn’t find this exact dress online, but I did find a very similar one.

Happy shopping!

The Perfect Wedding Dress Under $20

Amazon is my go-to place for just about everything I need to buy so when my brother-in-law was getting married, I went straight there to look for the perfect dress.  I knew I wanted something with flowers and this is what I came up with. It’s flattering and under $20! I’m 5’4″ and wearing a medium.

Try it on Tuesday: Wedding Style

This post contains affiliate links.

Wedding season is here!!! This week I decided not to shop at just one store but to check out several with the purpose of looking for wedding guest dresses only. It was more challenging than I thought it would be because I was looking for budget friendly dresses. I wanted to keep the dresses around $50 or less (and some are) but others are over $100.

Trumpet Sleeves

This one is a steal at $34.99! And I like that it could be worn to work. It would be really cute with some fun earrings from Sugarfix by BaubleBar.

Crochet Blush Dress

Blush is such a hot color this season. I feel constantly drawn towards it. It’s interesting how different this dress looks on me compared to the model. It’s much shorter on the model (not surprising) but it’s also way more form fitting rather than A lined. They must have had the dressed pinned back when they took the model’s picture.

Dainty Fringe

Another blush favorite! I like the simple details of this dress. I’m also a big fan of dresses than can be dressed up or down. This one would be easy to wear to work with or without a jacket.

Floral Maxi

A dress like this would be pretty for a beach or garden wedding. The back is a little open but doesn’t reveal too much skin. However, wearing a bra would get tricky. You’d probably need to wear an adhesive bra.

Cobalt Blue

It’s fun to see some bright colors back again. This Vince Camuto dress has fun, flirty details. Definitely twirl-worthy.

Lace Illusion Dress

I need a size smaller in this one but I really like it anyways. It’s unique but timeless at the same time.

Sequin Dress

I feel ready to dance in this one. Fun for a fancy girls’ night out or a wedding. I was a bit worried about the sequence; they always seem to hurt but this one was fine and the inside of the dress is AMAZINGLY soft.

Try it on Tuesday: Loft Style

This post contains affiliate links.

Loft is looking so cute right now! If you haven’t shopped at Loft before, you should know that it runs a bit big.

Here’s what I found…

Black Dress

It’s hard to see in the picture, but this dress has cute little buttons going down the front. It’s extremely comfortable and easy to dress up or down.

Halter Dress

I like the eyelet details at the bottom. With this dress, you might want to size down two sizes.  I’m 5’4″ and wearing a regular, not petite. I actually ordered it in petite a couple weeks ago but haven’t taken a picture of myself in it yet. The petite is quite a bit shorter on me.

Striped Dress

Fun colors for summer! I’m wearing a small petite so if you buy a regular it will be longer. The top button can be done or left open.

Sweater Tank

Frayed Cropped Jeans

Cute outfit for work or brunch with the girls. My pants are petite. The regular didn’t look very cropped on me.

Skirt

Ruffle Tee

Fun skirt for work or a baby/bridal shower. This comes in petite and long!! I’m wearing regular.

Happy shopping! XOXO

Try it on Tuesday: Target Style

This post contains affiliate links.

I couldn’t resist going back to Target for Try it on Tuesday. Here’s what I tried on this week….

Ruffle Sleeve T-shirt Dress

This dress is soft and comfortable. Most days, I’d prefer to wear it with flip flops. Wearing an XS.

Black Skirt

Tank

Love this skirt! It’s a stretchy knit material. Easy to pull on – no zipper. Very versatile. Also available in gray. Wearing a medium. The tank has a racerback. I like that the armholes aren’t too big so you can’t see your bra. Wearing XS.

Plaid Dress

I’m a teacher so this dress would be great for work during the warmer months at the end and beginning of the school year. Throw a jean jacket or cardigan on with boots and it works for fall too. Wearing a small.

Embroidered Dress

LOVE LOVE LOVE!  Pretty feminine details and it flows just the right amount. Wearing an XS.

Asymmetrical Striped Top

Denim Skirt

I like that the top is a bit different from what I’d normally wear. I think it’s fun to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to clothes. Wearing XS. The skirt has a cute raw step hem. Wearing a 6 but wish it was an 8. Most of the time, I’d probably just wear this skirt with a half-tucked tee.

Pleated Skirt

Blouse

Wearing an XS in the skirt and the top. Skirt feels a bit long on me (I’m 5’4). It’s the new midi length but I think it would look a bit better if I were taller. I could imagine some cute pictures with this skirt. Would also look great with a chambray top.

Denim Shorts

Tie Front Tee

Bow Sandals

Summer staples right here. I like the longer length of these shorts. I’m wearing a 6 in the shorts, medium in the tee, and my usual size in the sandals.

Pull-On Shorts

What’s not to love about shorts that feel like pajamas? Wearing a small.

Swim Cover Up

The high-low hem and lace-up top make this cover up look trendy. Wearing a medium.

Camo Outfit

So I know I’ve said that I would try to end each Try it on Tuesday post with a camo item, but the pickings were slim this week. I couldn’t get myself to try this on…Can you blame me???

Try it on Tuesday: Kohl’s Style

I know lots of people LOVE Kohl’s but I’m not one of those people….That is until they started accepting Amazon returns! Suddenly shopping at Kohl’s became convenient. I normally have to make an Amazon return once a month MINIMUM so that means I found myself wondering around Kohl’s again. Did you know they often give you a 25% off coupon when you use their Amazon return service? Pretty sweet.

This post contains affiliate links.

Here’s what I tried on this week at Kohl’s…

LC Maxi Dress

Every time I see Lauren Conrad’s name at Kohl’s, I can’t help but think about a couple of my former guilty pleasures: Laguna Beach and The Hills. Here’s a dress by Lauren Conrad. It’s extremely soft. It has tassels that you can tie or if you don’t want them to be seen, you can stick them under the dress like I did in the full body shot. Size down. I’m wearing an XS. I’m 5’4 and wearing 3 inch heals.

Lace-Up Dress

Chambray Lace-Up Dress

Open Toe Booties

I was tempted by these dresses to check out the junior’s section of the store. Do you still shop in the junior’s department ever? I’m probably getting too old for it but sometimes the clothes are cuter (and just about always cheaper). I feel like everything I tried on this week was so soft, including these dresses. In the green, I’m wearing a medium but would have preferred a small. In the stars, I’m wearing a small. I’m sorry, I can’t find the star dress online but I did find the dress in chambray.

Casual Dress

Flip-Flops

This dress feels like pajamas and did you notice it has pockets!?! Love a dress with pockets. I’m wearing an XS but would have preferred a small. Also, the light gray that I’m wearing is slightly see-through in certain lighting so you might want to go with the charcoal or black.  My flip-flops are Crocs. Never thought I’d own a pair but they are so comfortable, very light, don’t slip when they get wet, can be rinsed off when they get dirty, and you can hardly tell they’re Crocs. I wear them all the time. If you get some, be sure to size up a full size.

LC Dot Jeans

Sleeveless Shirt

Cuffed Jeans

Once again, another very comfortable outfit! The jeans and the shirt are soft. I’m wearing a 6 in the polka dot pants and a 4 in the cuffed jeans. In the white top, I’m wearing a small and a medium in “rose taupe”. I prefer the small. This shirt looks really cute when you tie it because it’s longer in the back.

Save Water T-Shirt

Shorts

“Save Water, Drink Champagne” – If you know me, then you know this shirt isn’t me because I’m OBSESSED with water. Have to have it everywhere I go or I feel like I’m suffering from dehydration! I do like a mimosa at brunch but in general, champagne gives me a headache so I normally skip it. The shorts are a nice longer length which can be hard to find, especially in destroyed denim shorts. I’m wearing a 10 but would have preferred an 8.

USA Flag Tee

Distressed Denim

This top is fun for the 4th of July. I’m normally not a fan of asymmetrical tees, but I think this one just works. Maybe because it’s a graphic tee of a flag. I know..flags are symmetrical but the non-symmetrical features of this shirt almost make it seem like the flag is blowing in the wind. Do you see it?  I’m wearing an XS. My jeans are made by BlankNYC. I bought them for a great price from Amazon. They’re a little over-distressed for me but they are probably the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever purchased so I decided to keep them and the rips have grown on me.

Sweatshirt

I headed back to the junior’s department for this sweatshirt. This is the stuff I love to wear at home or while running errands. I wanted it to be extra comfortable, so I sized up to a large.

Feather Top

This top is classy, while trendy at the same time. The sparkly feather details and bell sleeves make it current. Size down in this one. I’m wearing an XS.

I couldn’t find any camo that was worthy of trying on but did you know my favorite brush comes in a pink camo print?

Where do you want me to go next week for Try it on Tuesday?
